A Performance Guide to Medtner's Fairy Tale, Op. 51, No. 3

I was asked recently by International Piano to write a masterclass article for one of Medtner's more popular works, Fairy Tale, Op. 51, No. 3. I have given many masterclasses before in its traditional face-to-face setting, but never have I been asked to present one in this format. This was a unique challenge as I had to communicate my thoughts and suggestions without the luxury of interacting back and forth with a student. And as an added bonus, I even learned more new things about the work that I recorded for my recently released album! I hope you will have a chance to read it and that you find it helpful.
Je pensais auparavant que les soins dentaires concernaient surtout les urgences ou les traitements visibles, sans vraiment réfléchir au suivi global. En cherchant à decouvrir le cabinet, j’ai découvert une approche qui m’a poussé à voir les choses différemment. Cela m’a rappelé certaines périodes où j’avais laissé traîner de petits problèmes qui auraient pu être réglés plus facilement plus tôt. Cette prise de conscience m’a aidé à adopter une vision plus préventive des soins.
