Three Fairy Tales, Op. 9

Volume 9
FUTURE RELEASE, VOLUME 9
LISTEN

About this work:
The Three Fairy Tales, Op. 9 belong to Medtner's earliest period and represent an important step in the development of the Skazka, the genre that would become his most personal musical form. Written immediately after the Two Fairy Tales, Op. 8, these works show a young composer moving beyond Romantic character pieces toward a uniquely Medtnerian style of musical storytelling. The set consists of three contrasting miniatures, each creating a distinct poetic atmosphere while maintaining remarkable thematic concentration.
